Position: Associate Software Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement search algorithms using NLP, ML, semantic understanding, and deep learning
- Build and fine-tune models for information retrieval, summarization, and Q&A systems
- Integrate LLMs (GPT, BERT, BioBERT) for semantic and generative search
- Train custom models for biomedical entity recognition and similarity search
- Deploy vector-based search systems using embeddings and vector databases
- Collaborate with platform engineers to integrate AI models into cloud-based infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Package and deploy search services using Docker, Kubernetes, and MLOps pipelines
- Work with knowledge graphs and ontologies (MeSH, UMLS, SNOMED) to enhance search results
- Develop recommendation systems and optimize AI/ML pipelines
- Apply Generative AI and Vision Models for improving content quality and user engagement
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s in Computer Science & Engineering with 2–4 years of experience, or
Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Engineering with 2–5 years of experience - 1–3 years of experience in AI/ML model development (NLP, Search, Biomedical preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Python, frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face
- Hands-on with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, vector databases
- Solid understanding of transformers, embeddings, and entity recognition
- Familiar with GCP, AWS, and Azure platforms
- Experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL/NoSQL, Databricks/RDS, S3 Buckets, DynamoDB
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FastAPI, GraphQL, and design patterns
- Knowledge of LLMs, Generative AI, LangChain, LlamaIndex
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, vector databases
- Experience with Prompt Engineering and model fine-tuning
- Familiarity with MLOps tools like MLflow, Airflow, or SageMaker
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development
